Apparently I just need to clarify quickly why I have the Patriots at number 1 in my Power Rankings this week. Just so we're all on the same page, the number 1 team in a given set of Power Rankings should be who the best team in the league is, correct? I think we can all agree on that.
So if we have Team A and Team B playing each other, and Team A beats Team B, they would, therefore, be the better team, right?

If the Patriots and Packers played this week, the Patriots would win, hence, the #1 ranking this week.
Tom Brady has absolutely demolished two defenses in the first two games of the season, and that's why he's leading the league in passing yards with almost 1,000 already. The Packers defense has gotten shredded by Drew Brees (4th in passing yards) in week 1, and then by Cam Newton (2nd in passing yards) in week 2. I don't think it's a coincidence that the two QBs the Packers defense has faced so far this year are both in the top 5 in passing yards; they haven't shown the ability to stop anyone in the secondary yet. By the way, they're ranked 30th in total yards allowed and 24th in total points allowed. Now they've lost Nick Collins on top of it. What reason do we have to think that Brady wouldn't shred the Pack if they played?
Don't get me wrong, I'm a Packer fan no matter what, and I do think Aaron Rodgers is as good as Tom Brady. But when it comes down to it, I think the Patriots defense has played better than the Packers defense so far this season, and that's highlighted by the two teams' total points allowed - NE has given up 45 and GB 57. If the two teams actually played this week, I think the final score would be something like 42-38, and if the over/under for total points was set at anything under 80, I'd take the over anyday. I just think that Tom Brady and the Pats offense would put up more points than Rodgers and the Green Bay offense, and therefore win the game.
That's why they're #1 in my Power Rankings. But it is just my personal opinion.
